In the next 14 days, the well driller will complete the installation of our new water well. This means that during the well driller's working hours, only the 45 tee is allowed to be used. Signs have been posted at the other tees with appropriate information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally the sun came and some warmth and not least moisture. The transformation of our course from winter-worn and grey to green and almost lush has happened dramatically quickly in the last few weeks. Thank you very much for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fairways, tees and bunkers have started well, but our greens are still lagging behind in terms of repairing winter damage. The roll is actually good (9.5 to 10 on the Stimp), but we still miss evenness and density. It is on its way, although we always want it to be there from the start. Our favorite grass grows slowly and when the spring is as extremely cold as it has been this year, it goes extra slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The greenkeepers have put together a plan that focuses on helping us reach satisfactory quality as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This week, an extra dose of fertilizer has been given to push the growth engine a little harder. Next week, the greens are cut vertically and dressed to improve evenness. The following week, the greens are pricked with small spears to loosen the surface a little. The weakest greens and weakest areas are reseeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have to go back to 2013 to last experience such a rough start on our greens. But if we take into account a grueling winter and the fact that we don't use any kind of fungicide, we are doing OK, although both players and greenkeepers always prefer perfect greens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
