It has been another incredibly busy start to the season. The office has been busy with company days, a full shop, equipment days, matches, committees, members who just want to get going on the golf course. The whole club is buzzing. Divisional, regional, club-within-club and social matches fill the course \u2013 and keep the restaurant busy. And after a cold May, warmth and rain brought growth to our fairways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rain poured down for two solid hours the other day, but nothing could stop the eight ladies on the practice range to get the last few short game practice exercises in. Well done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
KGK's new training offer, Golf Academy, has been a huge success. The club's goal is to get more players down in handicap, for more to enjoy membership, for more to continue as golfers. And what is better than that our coaches, Klas and Oscar, have a full calendar and that the members train diligently. This affects the driving range a bit, but if we follow the new instructions for the driving range, we can hopefully maintain the standard on the driving range for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Things are going well at KGK, our finances are strong and we have waiting lists \u2013 now again divided into one for family members in direct line and one for others. So we take turns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The board can therefore confidently start the projects that quietly maintain and improve our conditions. The new well out by the 10th hole is finished, and with more water we can renew our irrigation system in a few years. We will start on the short game area when the season is over. We look forward to showing you the hall after the summer holidays, with new pictures and all the stories told, so that we all become aware of what a special club we are members of. The board has approved that we will have larger awnings on the terrace, and we are switching from an oil boiler to a heat pump. This will both be better financially and reduce CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, it is important to remember that everything depends on the members' commitment, even in small ways. Remember to take the little seed bag that hangs in the starter's house, correct the impact marks, show consideration for each other, close in when they are going faster from behind. Be accommodating, respect each other when playing with and against each other on a daily basis and in matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, we don't have a rich "uncle" to help us in times of need. We only have ourselves, and an absolutely fantastic club, with the most dedicated, golf-loving members you could wish for. So if you think we can do even better, let us know. Buy your equipment in the shop - you are a co-owner - and we will do everything to match the price. Our skilled chefs are your chefs - but we cannot maintain quality and opening hours in the long run with a single cup of coffee for a packed lunch. So treat yourself once in a while and use the facilities we have. Feel free to invite to the big party. The money is well spent, because it also comes back in the form of service, a reasonable membership fee and a unity and social environment that will enable your club to live for many years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
