Fairways are aerated and reseeded, fairways and semi-roughs are fertilized. Expect diligent, but busy greenkeepers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teeing ground at driving range is closed for renovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A disappointing August has now been replaced by promising late summer weather in September. The mornings are cooler and the dew heavier, but as the day progresses it becomes summery warm. For the golf course and the grass it is a wonderful time. The ratio between temperature and humidity is ideal and there is a distance from the heat and drought stress of summer. September is good for construction tasks and reseeding, but we have to wait a couple of weeks as there are a lot of big events on the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many may have noticed, but few have commented, that we have removed the putting green at the driving range. Our existing putting green poles are broken or crooked and generally lack quality. Without poles, the green looks calmer, but we are aware that members who have difficulty reaching down have a hard time. We will evaluate at a later date what a solution should look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Insulation sleeves on flagpoles have also been removed. This was the last thing missing in the corona reopening after nightclubs and discos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Crows haunt our golf course in their search for fat grubs. The crows turn the turf and we then try to repair the damage afterwards. The grubs lie just on the surface of the turf and eat the roots and they continue to do so until the cold comes and it is time to hibernate for the winter. A temporary local rule has been introduced as of September 1st regarding relaxation without penalty. See the notice in the starter's house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deer hunting season in Dyrehaven has started on September 1. 700 to 800 animals are shot each year and you will now frequently hear the roars and see the fleeing deer blowing across the golf course. It may feel violent and look wrong, but the Forest's permanent shooters are highly professional and experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
