That was the season \u2013 or was it? We may have played our final match and thus officially ended our golf season, but with 16 degrees at the end of October, who wants to stop\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The autumn fourball was introduced at the time for the few who wanted to play a little longer. And after that it was a maximum of five clubs in a carrying bag or wait until the grass grows again. Those times are long gone for a large group of our members. Now it's 14 clubs with fully charged batteries on the trolley, preferably all winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And on the one hand that's great, on the other hand we have to look at what the pitch can actually handle. The animals are of course the worst offenders, but we should do more to ensure our pitch is in proper condition when the season starts with the opening match in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is part of our basic narrative that we can play in Dyrehaven all year round. That is one of the unique qualities of being a member of KGK. It is also clear that KGK is a club owned by, run by and always for the members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the Board of Directors has approved the new winter rules, it will be based on the above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We saw a very clear improvement after the mat mandate last year. Therefore, from November 15th until spring, we are introducing a requirement for the use of mats on tees, fairways and foregreens. We have purchased new mats that are easier to carry and use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are introducing appointments at all times, and members can book before guests. We know many older members are active all winter, so the use of carts is still allowed, but if you can, please use a carrier bag. We are raising the winter green fee a little, but we would rather not close it completely to guests and thus wave goodbye to the not insignificant winter green fee income we have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 1st and 18th greens will be closed to play for a few months and we have also given the green light for the head greenkeeper to close the course primarily in the morning hours if there is frost, a lot of water or snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The administration will ensure that the winter rules are visible in the club. The Board of Directors simply has a request to all of you: Help us ensure that the rules are adhered to and remember that you can continue to enjoy yourself on the 19th hole \u2013 the restaurant is open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our location in Dyrehaven is a daily joy, but not without challenges. Our new short game area is still a long way off \u2013 if it comes at all. There are professional studies and public permits with hearings and hopefully a decision during the winter or spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similarly with the water tap on the 10th hole, where the drinking water now needs to be checked and cleaned of many things. However, we are still working on a solution for purification equipment for drinking water, which will hopefully be arranged during the winter - and then we just wait for the approval of the authorities...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
