In the first game weekend we were supposed to meet CGC and Hjortespring.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Sky has been approached by a star player from Silkeborg Golf Club, as 23-year-old Cecilie Bofill has chosen KGK as her home club after she moved to the capital to pursue an education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Already from her junior years, Cecilie showed herself to be a dedicated player with a penchant for professionalism down to the smallest detail, as well as an exemplary on- and off-court performance. Had that changed since she converted her amateur status to pro? \u2013 NO, not at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CGC\/KGK:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the team against CGC, Julia Talvela, Dagmar S\u00f8rensen and Benedicte Brent-Bucholz were selected to play the singles and Eva Fabricius-Bjerre and Cecilie Bofill the foursome. With this player material, there has now been a generational change on KGK's women's team, as the average age of the 5 players is 18\u00bd years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CGC performed well and put a lot of pressure on us, especially on the first 9 holes. But then it was as if the tournament routine had been knocked off and the winning shots were found. Julia won 3\/2 and Benedicte the same, while Dagmar had to play the 18th hole to finish in order to record a 2\/0 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also win the foursome, but not without a fight. After hole 6, the two young KGK ladies were 2 down, believed to have a clearly better swing technique and ball understanding. Around hole 8, Cecilie chose to leave the driver in the back. Not that the drives didn't hit the fairway, but the balls just got closer and closer to the semi-rough when they had come to rest 245-250 meters from the tee!! But with a 2 iron, which Cecilie hits 220 meters with, and stringy to understand, she also has a backup weapon in the back, which is more than useful. Cecilie and Eva turned the tables and deservedly won 3\/2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stag Jump\/KGK:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, the same players as against CGC were to play against Hjortespring, and everyone who has been there knows how technically demanding this relatively short course is. Precision is clearly preferable to length. On Saturday, Hjortespring, who were relegated from the 1st division in 2021, had won away against Helsing\u00f8r 9\/0. We met an opponent who was highly motivated for another victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On paper, i.e. handicap-wise, the girls seemed to be matched, but Hjortespring made the most of their home advantage. However, both teams had to find their best game to prevent their opponent from running away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it was really exciting in the end, but with a boring result for us. All our matches were lost in 18 holes. Super sad. Because a round shaving of 9\/0 does not show the true difference between the two teams. I do not want to belittle Hjortespring's victory, BUT 9\/0 ....!!.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look forward to meeting the "lads" from Hjortespring in the return match in mid-August, where the rough will be tall, juicy, dense and scary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
