In February the golf weather was so wonderful that you had to be out quickly after a tee time, in April there was no rain, in May it was winter gloves and hats again and in June we had already reached 30 degrees. A very dry spring is now noticeable, the greens are being hand-watered and it seems right that the work of providing a good decision-making basis for a new irrigation system has begun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must adapt our relationship to the climate changes that we have only seen the beginning of, and we must at the same time ensure that our course is attractive, well-maintained and a challenge for all types of members. This is and will be a major task, and the Course Committee is currently reviewing our action plan, looking at how we want our course to look, where we want to be in the long term and how we will get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it's like with Denmark's new government, it's easy to make a wish list, but the money must also be available. That's why we are so incredibly happy about the new members, full-time as juniors, who have joined this year. The trial memberships have meant that more have subsequently signed up, and the coaches' collaboration with the Intro Committee, which shows an infectious energy, will probably mean that more people will benefit from the membership. We can also note that our Company Days are sold out, and are being rebooked immediately for next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if we are to fulfill our ambitions for better training conditions, and if we are to ensure the club has a stable financial framework, we need more members, and this still requires a great deal of effort from all of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, it has been a busy few months for the administration, committees and clubs in the club, and it is great to see that so many members are active in a community around golf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is also reflected in the restaurant, which has had a good turnover so far, and there are many words of praise for the home-smoked salmon, the amount of meatballs in the dish of the day, and the quality and service for larger events. The board has listened to the sighs of regret about the prices of drinks, and we hope that the members appreciate that they get more for their money - and in turn support the restaurant. Then we can maintain the focus on quality, but it will be the task of a new restaurant manager, as Robert has chosen to stop after this season to devote himself to his 'estate' in Spain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also hope that members will flock to see some really good golf when DGU's Danish Stroke Play Championships are held here on 2, 3 and 4 August. It is simply a fantastic opportunity to show guests and the wider public what we can look forward to every golf day. The course is being set up for the big event, it will be both well-maintained and probably a little more difficult to play over the summer and the days leading up to it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is of course a plus in the home games that our elite players have left. But they are now doing really well. A long number of the club's elite teams are in 1st place in the divisions and the juniors are also having great results both as teams and individually. This is due to diligent training efforts and the right team spirit and attitude. Perhaps also a result of the coaching team being in high demand in the first part of the season, a really good start for the new team. Thanks to Klas and Oskar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So yes, there is much to be happy about. And remember, the best ambassadors are ourselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
