December 2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, some good news and a big thank you. The members who chose to give a gift of 200 DKK to our \u201cVAT refund collection\u201d can take credit for the fact that we also got a share of the pool this year. The good news is that the amount is 394,000 DKK, which we will use on projects for the benefit and joy of the club. The board will present which projects we propose the money be used for at the General Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The very dry summer last year and the very wet autumn this year are a taste of the changes that the climate will expose us to. Decline in interest in the sport of golf nationwide is another condition that requires us to think differently. The competition between the courses is fierce, and our course must, within the framework of the surroundings and the economy, be at the top. All our committees have therefore had good and thorough discussions during the year in which we have both short-term and long-term perspectives. What are the trends and challenges? What should we take into account and what are our goals? In this way, we are preparing ourselves for the future, whether it concerns the course, junior work, the elite, tournaments, clubhouse or communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KGK has a wonderful active group of volunteers, thank you to all of you who work hard for us, and please let us know if there are more of you who would like to join, we appreciate it immensely and the committees often supplement themselves with new members. We are in the process of launching a new website, which hopefully provides a better overview for both members, guests and new members. It is also our intention that committees and staff will ensure more life and activity on the website, and that it can inspire more people to participate in the life of the club. Not least, it would be wonderful to get more people involved in our tournaments, because it is fun, improves one's game and contributes to cohesion between the club members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We create the special KGK atmosphere ourselves, through the way we talk to and about each other. Our new Norwegian-born restaurateur, Atle Meier Engli (we are, after all) Scandinavia's<\/em>\u00f8rste golf club\u2026) noticed it right away: People walking on the path greeted and said \u201chi\u201d to him on his way up to the job interview. We are incredibly happy to welcome Atle, who comes with a lot of experience, is trained as both a chef and a waiter, advocates fresh ingredients and a focus on the customer, and has an infectious good mood. Conversely, we are sad to say goodbye to Robert and Tobias in the kitchen, who has created a great result in the restaurant this year, to the great satisfaction of the customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club's finances are healthy, although we still have room for new members. We therefore hope that you will all be good ambassadors for our club, spreading the word that after many years of waiting list, it is possible to become a member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And be happy that we play on a course that can stay open all winter, weather permitting, as long as you remember to take good care of it. Don't walk across the greens unnecessarily, respect the white lines and align your teeing grounds. And remember<\/strong> Close-through rules: Always give way to those who are going faster from behind and don't jump in from 4th to 15th if you're bothering those coming from 14th - regardless of whether they only catch up with you on 18th. Then it's going to be a wonderful winter season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
