About Introgolf

Introgolf's purpose is to give new golfers and new members a good introduction to the club and to inform them about the facilities and club life at KGK.

To you If you are a new golfer, a team of experienced golfers will be on hand to mentor and introduce you and help you acquire a course permit, as well as provide information about golf rules and etiquette. Read more about the course itself here.

To you If you are a new member and need support to get started, a team of experienced golfers/mentors will be ready to give you a guided tour of our fantastic course, as well as help you find playing partners.

KGK's head coach Klas will come around the field on Monday afternoons if necessary and provide guidance on the different challenges that you may experience on the field during games.

Introgolf is handled by the intro committee.

How to get a play permit

For those of you who are new golfers, we at Copenhagen Golf Club (KGK) have put together a course that you must complete to obtain a course permit:

You must be able to play our par 3 course (5 holes with lengths between 60 and 100 m) once in a maximum of 18 strokes.
You are now ready to participate in our Intro Course, which is a game over 9 holes on our 18-hole course. With a handicap (HCP) of 54, you must score 18 points on each of the following tees: 31, 37 and 43.
You must complete DGU's rule test, completed rules test must be handed in to the office or sent to kgk@kgkgolf.dk

Once this is done, you have obtained a "course permit" and received an hcp of 54. Congratulations? You are now allowed to book and play every day, provided that you are a member of KGK.

The rules of golf - in one place

As a new player in the sport of golf, there is a lot to learn – new words, concepts and rules.
The club office sells a pocket guide, an easy-to-read handbook of rules and etiquette. Such a book is good to have in your golf bag when doubts or disagreements about the rules arise out on the course.

If you have a smartphone, you can download the R&A (the rules of golf) from the App store or Google Play store.

Activities

The course of the year is:

New members of the club are invited to an information meeting.
Intro golf is played every Monday afternoon at approx. at 16.00 – 18.00 and on selected weekend days. These are stated on notices in the clubhouse and on golf boxThere will be representatives from the induction committee present as well as a number of mentors and supervisors to help participants get started and out on the field as needed.
In addition, a continuous stableford match every Monday for those players who need and/or want to try this match format. There will also be mentors who will go out as needed. This applies to both Monday afternoons and selected weekend days
Once a month, a fun and friendly tournament is held where everyone can participate. It ends with a communal meal and prize giving - a very popular activity.
An excursion to another course is arranged once a year (to be announced)
