Club Laws, Etiquette and Honorary Members
Club rules
The club's bylaws, including the changes adopted at the April 2019 general meeting, can be read here.
Questions regarding this can be directed to Director Tuula Undall, as well as to the club's board of directors.
Etiquette
The greatest consideration must be shown towards the Deer Park's audience and deer, as well as the working staff. Games may not take place if the aforementioned are within playing range.
KGK has a dress code. It is recommended that everyone demonstrate critical thinking and situational awareness and dress appropriately for the conditions (please make your guests aware of KGK's dress code).
Track inspections are carried out on all areas and in all buildings at the disposal of KGK. The inspection must ensure that all applicable rules are complied with. The track inspection's instructions must be followed.
The club is not responsible for the values and effects of members or guests.
Active members of the club who are not in arrears with their dues or in quarantine have access to play on the field according to the rules that apply to their membership category. A valid back badge must be worn visibly.
Active members of recognized golf clubs have access to the course against payment of a green fee. Green fees must be paid to the greatest extent possible before the start of play. In cases where the guest confirms their time outside the office's opening hours, payment must be made according to the rules indicated in the hall at the self-service screen.
Before playing on the course, all players are required to familiarise themselves with the applicable local rules and these rules of conduct and etiquette and to comply with them. Play is subject to the rules adopted by The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
When all the players on the team in front have drifted out, you must go through the gate and forward to the 1st tee.
Only wooden tees may be used – it is recommended that you do not leave broken tees on the course.
Dogs are allowed on the course if they are on a leash.
Mobile phones may be brought along – but not turned on. They may only be used for emergency calls, in case of illness, etc. Course personnel, tournament managers and referees, and course control are exempt from this provision.
As mentioned under general, all players must take into account the course staff, who have unconditional priority in carrying out their work.
It is not permitted to take full practice swings on the tees. It is also not permitted to pitch turf for the purpose of using it as a tee.
It is never permitted to play more than four balls per team.
Always lay turf in place. This does not apply to the tees.
Bags and carts may not be placed on or pulled over greens or teeing grounds.
Bunkers must be prepared with the laid out rakes.
Impact marks on greens must be carefully corrected.
The flagpole must be placed carefully on the greens. You must not expose the greens to marks, for example by leaning on the putter or flagpole.
A ball in a hole must not be picked up with the club or putter head.
Carts may not be pulled or placed on areas between greens and green bunkers or on the “aprons”.
No trash may be left on the course.
Players who have started from the 1st tee and play the holes in the correct order always have priority.
In connection with a tournament, the 1st tee is closed from ½ hour before the first start to ½ hour after the last start. No starting is indicated by a sign on the gate at the exit to the 1st tee. No starting must be respected regardless of whether there are tournament participants on the 1st tee.
Dogs are not allowed in the clubhouse or on the terrace and please refer to the dog kennels provided.
Mobile phones are not allowed to be used for calls in the restaurant or on the terrace.
Bringing food or drinks may not be enjoyed in the restaurant.
Bottles, glasses or similar items may not be taken outside the restaurant or terrace. Plastic bottles are exempt from this rule.
Footwear may only be left in the changing rooms.
Equipment, including sports bags, bags, clubs or carts, may not be transported through or placed in the clubhouse or on the terrace, but must be placed in the designated areas.
Shoes, clothing, etc. left in the clubhouse, bathroom or changing room will be removed and after three months destroyed or donated to charity. The club will not be responsible for any further delivery.
It is recommended that everyone help keep things tidy. Tableware and bottles must be cleared after use – both in the restaurant and on the terrace.
Bags and trolleys are not allowed in changing rooms or wardrobes.
Washing clubs and irons must be done in the designated washing area at the exit to the course.
Bicycles must be placed in or near the racks provided.
Access is only available to members with a valid badge or guests who have paid the green fee.
It is not permitted to practice shots on the putting green.
Only golf shoes or flat shoes may be used.
Dogs are not allowed.
Otherwise, the same rules apply as for greens on the course.
Mobile phones may not be used.
Access is only available to members with a valid badge, guests who have paid the green fee or the coach's students.
It is strictly forbidden to hit balls out on the driving range when collecting balls. Violation of this rule will result in immediate expulsion and quarantine, and in case of repetition, exclusion.
The driving range is open from sunrise to ½ hour before sunset.
It is recommended to use wooden tees or mats.
No putting is allowed on the putting green.
Turf must be laid around the putting green.
After use, ball buckets and mats must be returned to the ball machine. Practice balls may only be used on the driving range. Your own balls must be used on the putting green.
The greatest possible consideration must be given to players on the 18th hole. Therefore, always hit in a direction away from the 18th hole.
No waste must be left behind.
Mobile phones may not be used.
Please be considerate of traffic on the bridleway.
Hole In One
If a player (member or green fee) manages to make a hole in one with their first ball, on the KGK golf course, Rosé, Vin og Bobler will award a bottle of Club Magnum Rosé for this achievement. For the juniors, there will be another non-alcoholic prize.
Therefore, the secretariat would like to hear about this achievement and reward this event.
So if you have a story to tell, get in touch. kgk@kgkgolf.dk or come by the secretariat, it is assumed that it was during normal play on an 18-hole round and that you have paper and a seconder who can vouch for this performance.
