Dear members,
DGU has urged all Danish golf courses to close all facilities, including on-course play, until March 29, to show community spirit due to COVID-19.
The board has carefully discussed the DGU's request and compared it with the recommendations from the authorities and the Prime Minister.
It is clear that the recommendations for the elderly and sick are to stay home, for all of us to avoid unnecessary contact with others, and that there is a ban on activities - even outdoors with more than 10 people.
Against this background, we find notthat there is evidence to generally prohibit members from playing on the golf course. In addition, Dyrehaven is a public park and remains open to visitors.
The board has decided that the clubhouse, including the back yard, will be closed with immediate effect, but members - subject to proper disinfection and a minimum distance of 2 meters from others - can pick up their golf equipment until Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. After that, the red gates will be closed until the clubhouse area.
Playing on the field is permitted by prior appointment, for members only and with a maximum of two in each ball. Guests will be deleted from their booked time today, and 3- and 4-balls will be reduced to 2 players by deleting the lowest players on the time. You are welcome to move your times around yourself before the office staff does so.
Of course, gatherings on tees and greens are prohibited, and a minimum distance of 2 meters must be maintained during play. We are removing scorecards, flags and rakes and encourage everyone to think carefully. Give putts within 1-1.5m and wear a glove on your hand if the ball is to be picked up from the hole. The pinsheet will be available on our website under news. Training facilities will be closed.
Although it is tempting to play golf, it may be better for yourself and others to stay home. So be responsible and don't go if you have any doubts.
We follow the authorities' instructions and will close the course for play without prior notice if this is required.
Take good care of everyone else and take care of yourself.
Kind regards on behalf of the Board of Directors
Birgitte Henrichsen
Chairman
