The sun shone from a cloudless sky as 69 ladies participated in the Tuesday Club's Open Ladies' Day on August 19. 48 were guests from 19 different clubs. For many of the participants, it has become a bit of a tradition to participate in the match at the Eremitagen.
High-level golf fun: The Tuesday Club, which is the women's club of Copenhagen Golf Club, plays every Tuesday from mid-April to the end of October. Play takes place in three rows A, B, C and a 9-hole row.
The A, B and C rows have starting times from 8:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., but the last hour from 11:40 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. is reserved for the 9 row. Registration via Golfbox and Club Tournaments.
To become a member of the Tuesday Club, you must have a maximum handicap of 38 and play 18 holes. The 9-hole course is reserved for the club's older members.
During the season we play different match formats that accommodate both the sporting and friendly aspects of the game.
Every year we play friendly matches against Gilleleje and Rungsted's women's clubs. There are over 30 matches during the season, including the internal friendly match with the Old Boys club, outings and Open Ladies Day.
Oldest women's club: The Tuesday club is the country's oldest women's club. It was founded in 1948 by a small group of KGK ladies. The inspiration came from English and Scottish clubs. The purpose was for people to play different matches, learn the rules and of course have fun.
There were 14 members the first year, and the game was played in two rows. 10 years later there were 38 members and by the 40th anniversary in 1978 there were 100.
Today, the club has approx. 140 members.
