Copenhagen Golf Club

KGK is not only Denmark's, but also Scandinavia's first golf club, founded in 1898. For the first few years, the club played at Lammefælleden, which was located close to Vibenshus roundabout in Copenhagen.

The players dug the holes themselves in the morning and covered them up again in the evening. But the club soon had the opportunity to rent an area southwest of the Eremitageslottet, where 9 holes were built in 1899, opposite the then galloping track.

In 1928, the current 18-hole course was inaugurated and despite the course work in 2009, 16 of the holes still have largely the same layout as back then.
