The Juniors

Team tournament, National Final U16A. September 29th

Næstved provided great weather and a great pitch for the end of the season for the boys' team, who in the national finals would meet the champions of Vest from Trehøje, who were also the defending Danish champions from 2023 – which their T-shirts bore the imprint of. Undeniably a tough opponent for the boys.

Juniors in KGK

The junior department at Copenhagen Golf Club consists of approximately 150 juniors.

When you are a new junior there are many new things to learn. It may seem overwhelming at first, but there are many of us here at Copenhagen Golf Club who are ready to help you. You are always welcome to ask us.

On this page we will explain who can help with what.

The PGA coach

The club has two PGA-trained coaches: Klas Olsson & Oskar Almlund. Oskar Almlund is responsible for junior training.

Oskar can help you with everything about training times, various training teams, lessons, advice about equipment, learning the game and how to get on the big court.

Read more about junior training here.

The office/shop

Here you can get help with registration, renting lockers, booking times on the court and other practical details.

Click here to see who you'll meet at the office.

Junior Committee

The Junior Committee can help you with information about all the different social activities we have during the year. They can also help you get an overview of which tournaments you can participate in.

See who is part of the committee here.

Golf equipment

You can easily borrow golf equipment at the beginning. Please let the coach know before training starts so he can prepare it. The coaches can help you with which equipment will suit you best.

Social activities

Every year we organize Easter camp, summer camp & autumn camp. These are wonderful days where fun and socializing are the main focus.

Additionally, during the season we organize our weekly Junior Thursday, where all juniors register in advance and show up on the day from 3:00 PM to play on either the par-3 course or the large course, depending on how far along they are in their golf development. Junior Thursday always ends with a meal together in the restaurant.

In the winter, we enjoy meeting on selected weekends for a little golf on our course, and then going to the restaurant for nice hot cocoa and cozy company.

Parent info

How is information received?

For communication with our juniors and their parents we use emails, Facebook and team sports. Information about team sports can be found under the "training" menu.

It is important that your email in golfbox is updated. Golfbox is our member database, and where you can book time on the course, and register for various events and tournaments.

When you registered, you received login information for golfbox via email.

Remember to go to and like our Facebook page "Junior in KGK" to follow the information there or see the latest feed here.

Dress code

There is no requirement to play in expensive and fancy golf clothing. Here at Copenhagen Golf Club, golfers play in polo shirts with collars and long shorts when the weather permits.

When we are inside our cozy clubhouse and restaurant, it is not allowed to wear hats or caps.

If you are in doubt about the attire on the golf course, you can see a picture example on the junior notice board.

Jogging suits are not golf clothes, but they are perfectly fine for physical training.

It is always a good idea to have your own equipment for playing on the field.

What should my child bring to the field and to training?

It is very important that the juniors wear clothing that is appropriate for the weather. It will make the experience much better as long as you have the right clothing. Better too much than too little.

Rain gear should ALWAYS be in the back!

What training opportunities are available at KGK?

At Copenhagen Golf Club there are plenty of opportunities for training. All juniors are offered weekly training through their membership. Duration and content depend on the age and how long the junior has played golf. Team schedules can be found further down.

If you are completely hooked on golf and can't get enough training, there will be an opportunity for those who love challenges and want to work concentratedly on their golf game to opt for extra junior training. We encourage participation in team tournaments and to train with "Team KGK" as a coach twice a week.

Training 2024

Registration for junior training season 2024 is open.

The training takes place during the high season from the Easter holidays up to and including the first week of the summer holidays, and from mid-August up to and including the autumn holidays. Everyone who signs up for training will receive 1 hour of group training per week during the high season with a maximum of 16 participants per group.

Clipboard

All juniors who wish to participate in the weekly training register their interest with Oskar and receive a Klippekort for 21 training sessions. One for each week of training during the high season.

With the clip card, you can control when you train, as you sign up for each individual training session. Maybe Monday evening is best, but a few Mondays you just can't make it, so it's easy for you to sign up for training on another day or time that suits your schedule.

Groups

We have training groups on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 4-7 pm, with one hour of training per team.

The training groups are divided into four different themes.

Basic – focus on the basics

Perfect for those who want to obtain a track permit. Great for those who want a check-up on your technique.

Here we train at different stations to improve the 3 fundamentals of golf.

In the Basic groups we train to hit the ball better.

Level? For you on the way to a track license.

Advanced – Focus on games

In the Advanced groups we train to play better.
