The day before the Hubertus Hunt, this year's CrossCountry tournament was held in light drizzle, but otherwise mild conditions. It was actually close to the worst weather the tournament has experienced in the years it has existed.
The crosscountry is the greenkeepers' thanks for this season. Not as vicious as at many other clubs where they play "the greenkeeper's revenge". At the Hermitage it is only a walk across the rough. 12 holes are played as a scramble across the regular holes and often using old, abandoned tees from the course's long history.
The best selling point of the match is that the restaurant serves small treats and vin chaud on the 9th tee of the course. The players come here several times and it is popular. Perhaps this was the last time that the participants enjoyed Robert's services now that he is thinking of quitting the club.
This year's lovely sponsor was once again Rosé, wine and bubbles by Henrik Sølver and after wine tasting in the clubhouse, the talented winners were announced:
Anne Victor, Christopher Ostenfeld and Jan Becker with 44 strokes. Big congratulations from the tournament committee and the greenkeepers.
