Elite Ladies Danish Tournament 2015

Driving range

Women's Divisional Golf

The women's division team, which was in the 1st division before the start of the season, had the following opponents in the 2015 season: Korsør, Hedeland and Smørum. The division matches were to be played over 3 game weekends, where everyone would play against each other, home and away.

The goal was clear, we had to remain in the 1st division.

On the first matchday we met Smørum at home and won comfortably 10-2. The next day we were in Korsør on a bitterly cold and windy spring day, where no one had warm enough clothes. We lost with honor to a well-played team that made the most of their home field advantage.

Elite ladies 2015 against Korsør Out towards Korsør

And that's how the season went, we won some games and we lost others, and so did the other teams.

The last weekend we were to play against Hedeland, whom we had narrowly defeated earlier, and against Korsør, who on paper had a better team. Hedeland had brought 2 US College players home for the occasion, we hadn't seen that coming. In our two foursomes we win one and lose one, but in the singles we only win one. We lost overall to a better team, that's how it was.

It looked bleak, because the last match on Sunday was at home against Korsør, the strongest team in the pool and who were deservedly ranked number 1. To stay in the 1st division, we had to win. With a draw against Korsør, our continued existence in the second-best division would depend on the result of the match between Hedeland and Smørum, and if we lost….we didn’t think that far…

After our foursome against Korsør was played, we had lost one match and drawn. The belief that it would be possible to win 3 of the 4 singles was hard to find among the players. Despite this, the ladies delivered a fantastic performance and won 3-1 in the singles and thus 7-5 on aggregate. Korsør could not comprehend what had just happened, and we were wild with excitement.

Home towards Hedeland

The results across the board in the last weekend of play gave us an overall 2nd place in our pool.
A very satisfied team captain would like to say a big thank you to the players who have participated and been part of the overall team.

Finally, a huge thank you to Bech-Bruun who has been a faithful sponsor of our elite ladies for many years. The support is indispensable and means an incredible amount to the development of our girls.
