The fireplace is one of the joys that has come to the club due to the donations that have secured a VAT refund.
KGK is a non-profit association and therefore not subject to VAT. Every year we apply for a VAT refund because it gives us an opportunity to get back some of the VAT that we pay to our suppliers. We are not talking about small amounts of money, and last year it was, for example, DKK 352,000. But any VAT refund is of course welcome.
To receive a refund, at least 100 members must each donate 200 DKK to the club. no later than September 28, 2026. Your donation is tax deductible when you remember to include your social security number, and identification is a requirement for the club to receive a refund. Your company can also donate.
The club will ensure that you automatically receive a deduction for the amount from SKAT. Payment is made via GolfBox by clicking on the link, and you will automatically receive an invoice for your accounts.

The law does not impose VAT on golf services, and this means that Copenhagen Golf Club cannot obtain a deduction for the VAT on the goods that the club purchases.
However, according to Section 8A of the Taxation Act, non-profit associations can, as a special measure, apply for compensation for the purchase VAT that they would otherwise have to pay in full themselves. To be considered for VAT compensation, the association must receive a gift of DKK 200 from at least 100 members of the club, as has previously happened in Copenhagen Golf Club.
The prerequisite for the club to receive the compensation is the donations, and the rules tie the sum of the donations to investment in charitable purposes in the club – that is, to projects that benefit the majority. We have previously invested in, among other things, the installation of a gas fireplace and network & software for use in the Trackman room, for the benefit of the members, while the very significant VAT refund is included in the operation of the club.
In order to maintain our status as a non-profit association, it is also required this year that at least 100 members no later than September 28, 2026 each donates 200 kr.
We hope that many of the club's members will donate again this year. The transfer can either come from your company or from you as a private individual. You must remember to provide your name and social security number/CVR number in the field after you have clicked "Register online" when making the transfer - this way you will receive a deduction for the gift on your tax return (both as a private individual and as a company), and the club is closer to a VAT refund.
Kind regards and thanks in advance,
Copenhagen Golf Club
