Communication in Old Boys
When we write together under the auspices of Old Boys, it is done via email – not text message. Some of you have started using text message, but in future we will require an email, for example in connection with registrations.
Winter Tournament 2025
The winter tournament is coming to an end. The last day of play is March 31. Row 1 is almost all done and Row 2 is also doing well while Row 3 is busy. Play well – and straight!
Excursion to Sweden August 14-15 – completely sold out!
As written last month, there has been a 'run' on the registrations – and this year we have received many more than we usually do – almost 50% more. Of course it is great and although it gives the organizer a little extra work, it is something we do with pleasure. This year we have ended up with 16 Old Boys playing both Thursday and Friday – and staying overnight and having dinner together – and 12 driving over on Friday and playing with us. This means we will have 28 players on Friday.
WHS (World Handicap System)
Last month we promised to come back to the changes in WHS. They simply mean that when you make a match, the course must be an approved WHS course in order for you to be regulated in handicap after the round. Unfortunately, Golfbox has chosen to implement the change by asking the clubs to be responsible for the changes, instead of doing it automatically – and unfortunately this affects us on the Old Boys board. This is because we already added all 2025 matches to Golfbox on January 13 – so we will have to redo that work after March 1! If Golfbox had already announced something about the change in the 4th quarter of 2024, we could have saved a lot of work. PRACTICE!
NOTE…
Please note that from March 1, 2025, a distinction will be made between a 9-hole course and an 18-hole course. Tournaments that are held over 9 holes have previously had an 18-hole course attached, where you have simply chosen that holes 1-9 or 10-18 have been played. From March 1, 2025, you must ensure that you add the correct 9-hole course to these tournaments. So if it is a 9-hole tournament where holes 1-9 are played, then it is the 9-hole course for Forni (F9) that must be added to the tournament, and of course the opposite for holes 10-18, where it is Bagni (B9) that must be added. For clubs with loops, it is the correct loop that must be added.
Birthdays
On March 12, we can congratulate the chairman, who turns 75.
On March 15th, we can congratulate Jens Behrens 1-1883 on his 75th birthday.
