Morten Toft Hansen will join KGK in 2019 and will be a clear addition to our elite squad.
Morten is a super likeable guy with both feet firmly planted in the ground. He doesn't have that much arm movement and lets the golf clubs do the talking? He will be a fantastic role model for our young players and all other elite players. Furthermore, he is a club person and if time and the tournament program allow it, he is happy to show up for club matches to meet our members and tell a little about his plans, and maybe even what it's like to win at the Nordic League and win silver and bronze at the European Championships.
Morten's motivation for the change
“Getting the opportunity to play for Copenhagen is always very special and the club offers high-class training facilities with a good range where you stand and train from grass, as well as a new improved putting green and a nice wedge area in the form of the club's par 3 course. What really appeals to me here at the club is the opportunity to help build something new around the club and the elite. The club's ambitions with the elite match mine and it is an honor to have the opportunity to stand at the forefront and show the way together with the rest of the elite and the upcoming juniors who can help put the club even more on the map. In addition, the club offers me the network needed to create a solid foundation for my upcoming Pro career, where not least Christian is a great help in that work and I look forward to the collaboration with him, the members and the club.”
Mortens Golf CV / Merits and future ambitions
“I have played on the national team since I was 15, and have been part of DGU's men's national team for 3 years.
My plan for my career is that in the 2019 season I will continue as an amateur for the Danish national team, where I will play the big amateur tournaments, such as the European Individual Championship and the European Team Championship, where I will do everything to get the gold medal I need. In addition, my focus will primarily be on the Nordic League, where I will play full-time as an amateur, and build on the season I have had this year, where the goal next year is to finish in the top 5 and get one of the five places for the Challenge Tour in 2020. In addition, at the end of next season I will also try my luck at the European Tour Q-School, to have the opportunity to improve my category.”

In addition, 2 more top 10 finishes at the Nordic League, as well as several smaller victories in amateur tournaments on Danish soil and several top 10 finishes both at college and in Europe.
“The goal for my entire career is to use next year as a springboard for my upcoming pro career, where the plan is that I will tour at the end of 2019. The goal is thus to reach a level where I can compete for victories on both the Challenge Tour/European Tour and later also the Majors. I believe that I can assert myself through my will and ambitions to succeed and make my dreams come true. And who knows, maybe one day lift the first major victory for Danish golf (if no one beats me to it).”
If you meet Morten in KGK, please welcome him.
A big WELCOME from here and we look forward to the collaboration!
