National team player in great Danish amateur triumph in Italy
Magnus Becker Frederiksen from Copenhagen Golf Club has recently won the Italian Open Amateur Championships. The tournament, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious on the European amateur calendar, was held at the Royal Park Golf & Country Club I Roveri in Turin.
Magnus delivered impressive rounds of 70, 68, 68 and 72, which brought him to an overall first place together with the Italian national team player Lucas Nicolas Fallotico. After an exciting playoff, Magnus secured the victory on the first playoff hole and was able to lift the traditional trophy.
We wish Magnus Becker Frederiksen a big congratulations on his victory and look forward to following his promising career in the future.
News from the Administration:
Due to the start of the season, the office is extra busy. We would greatly appreciate it if you as members could help by using the touch screens to confirm your times. Remember that you can always book the first available bocce time yourself on the touch screens. Of course, we are always happy to greet you and help when needed.
Sale in the KGK Shop:
We have exciting sales in the shop! Come and get a good deal on selected items, including bags, golf clothing, shoes and equipment. We are selling out of last year's collections at extremely favorable prices, so there is plenty of opportunity to find quality products at a good price.

News from the Track:
June is full of matches and events, so there are only a few major maintenance tasks planned on the course. The greenkeepers are therefore focusing on general course maintenance and trimming the irrigation system.
Scheduled maintenance:
- Week 22: Aerating greens (Monday and Thursday) with small spears and minimal disturbance.
- Week 24: Cutting and dressing of greens (Monday) with very little disturbance to the playing surface.
The dry weather has increased the need for water, and our old irrigation system from 1990 is being challenged. We are working to improve water coverage by adding more sprinklers, especially on the foregreens and tees. We have also updated our irrigation system software and plan to increase pump capacity with a new power cable this fall.
A new supply of our popular divot bags will soon be available in the starter's house and at the trailhead at the 5th and 14th holes. We encourage everyone to use them diligently to help keep the course in top condition.
Remember:
- Straighten up your impact marks – and preferably those left behind by others.
- Use both hands on the rake handle when raking in bunkers.
- Practice from your chosen booth on the driving range and hit the turf in lines, not scattered.
- Please take due consideration for our greenkeepers and their work on the course.

Upcoming Tournaments:
The Marriage Cup – June 8
- Gun start at 1:00 PM, played as a Greensome/Stableford.
- Dinner and prize giving afterwards.
- Sponsor: Menu Jægersborg Allé 44.
- Open to married couples and cohabiting couples – as well as full-time and weekday members.
- Registration takes place in GolfBox with all further information.
KGK Social Match – 23 June 2024
- Time: Meeting time at 08:00, reverse gun start at 09:00
- Course: We play 12-hole Stableford (holes 1-8 + 15-18)
- Tee: Men from tee 49, women from tee 45
- Price: DKK 180 (includes match fee and subsequent lunch)
Format:
- Holes 1-4: The best score per hole counts.
- Holes 5-8: The 2 best scores per hole count
- Holes 15-18: The 3 best scores per hole count.
In case of a tie, the lowest overall handicap will be weighted. The team captain will fill out an extra scorecard with the result per hole and the total result. Come and join us for a nice and fun day!
Race to Costa Navarino - by green2green - 30 June
- Date: June 30, 2024
- Location: Copenhagen Golf Club
- Price: 300 DKK per person (includes tournament fee, lunch, fun competitions and great prizes)
- The winning pair from each tournament will qualify for the final at Costa Navarino in the first week of March 2025!
News from the Restaurant:
We are facing a busy period, and the restaurant welcomes you with fresh flowers and new people behind the bar. We are working to optimize the restaurant and adapt to the wishes and needs of the members and committees. We look forward to giving you an even better experience and look forward to seeing you.
News from the Coaches:
Autumn experience in Barcelona: Join us for an autumn experience at a fantastic golf resort north of Barcelona. Klas and his wife Agneta are taking 15 people to Peralada Wine Spa and Golf Resort. We will be traveling October 18-25, and we promise an experience beyond the ordinary. If you have any questions or would like to register, please send an email to: klas@kgkgolf.dk.
KGK Golf Academy After Summer Edition: Now you can register for KGK Golf Academy for weeks 34-35 and 37-38.

- 10:00 – 11:00 with Oscar
- 11:00 – 12:00 with Oscar

News from the Junior Committee:
- Junior Thursday: Remember to register no later than Tuesday at 12 noon in GolfBox. We have seen a significant increase in participation, with approximately 30 juniors meeting every Thursday to play 9 holes and enjoy a meal together afterwards. There is always room for more!
- Tournaments: We encourage our juniors to participate in local tournaments. This year we have already had 30 juniors playing on foreign courses – twice as many as last year!
- Junior Summer Camp: Registration is open in GolfBox for the summer camp July 1-4. We have 50 spots, and 33 have already registered, so hurry up and secure a spot.
We are delighted with the large turnout and encourage all juniors to participate in these activities to become an active part of our golf club.
