Life at the KGK Old Boys Club in November 2022.

20221208_102946

The new 2023 season doesn't start until the last Friday in March, but this year's Winter Tournament has gotten off to a great start. The warm autumn weather has lured many players out to the Plains – at least in the A-series, which has gotten off to a really good start and with an unusually high number of even and drawn matches. It will be exciting to follow the 3 series in the coming months. The C-series will play each other twice to achieve approximately the same number of matches as the other two series.

The next edition of "Life in the Old Boys Club" will be broadcast in week 51 – before Christmas.

Quota status

With just one month left until the new deadline, 60 members have paid their dues. The Tuesday Club has raised the annual dues from 300 to 400 DKK at their general meeting! – but we are still holding on to the 300 DKK.

300 kr. – Nordea Bank: 2135 5363344048. Please, please. not write your name on the payment – only your membership number

When we reach January and you haven't paid, you will be deleted from the distribution list – then you can't understand why you no longer receive information from us – now you know why 🙂

Which course should we play on next year's outing?

We know two things about next year's excursion: It will be on September 15th and the trip will be to Sweden – but which course in Sweden should we play? If you have any suggestions for where the excursion should go, write to the chairman.

Winter tournament

We have launched 3 tournaments this month, all of which must be completed by March 28, 2023.

The A-row is 12 players, the B-row is 11 players and the C-row is 5 players. See results HERE

New (old) member

This month we can welcome KGK member 1-1904 Jens Taarnhøj back as a member of our club within the club.

Old Boys Golf Trip 2023

We can again offer a golf trip in 2023! Earlier this month, the chairman was with KGK Erhvervsklub in Spain and played PGA Catalunya, where there was the DP World Tour in April. Fantastic experience - 2 fantastic courses. But the chairman has decided that it will not be PGA Catalunya that we will visit on next year's golf trip - and this is solely due to the price! The trip would have cost the same as to Ireland this year, but a single room alone cost 3,000 DKK extra - so I have looked around for other options and my contact at the travel agency has highly recommended Emporda Golf Club also in the Costa Brava area, so that is what we are going with this time, even though the price for a single room is on the expensive end, it is offset by the fact that the hotel offers both breakfast and dinner every day. That justifies the single room price, the chairman thinks.

To ensure that it is not too hot, the trip is being pushed back 14 days to departure on Saturday, October 7th and return on Wednesday, October 11th – the trip will thus not conflict with the Autumn holiday. We are flying again with SAS on SAS Economy PLUS and the chairman has decided that there will be no golf on the day of our return. Instead, a small excursion to Girona – a very beautiful and cozy Spanish city – will be arranged, where we will then have lunch before the trip back to Denmark early in the evening.

We have a limited number of places on next year's golf trip. If you would like to join us, please register via this link: https://tgptours.com/tours/emporda2023 Read more about the trip HERE

A deposit must be paid upon registration and the remainder must be paid 1 month before departure - but you will receive an invoice for both payments directly from Golf Plaisir.

If the trip is oversubscribed, priority will be given to members who have paid their dues on time, i.e. before January 1, 2023.

kind regards
