This year's friendly matches are traditionally held in June. But this year it was a bit too close, as the first match – Old Boys and Tuesday Club against Hornbæk, was held on June 7th away. On June 11th, Rungsted came to visit, and the following week – June 18th – Tuesday Club went to Gilleleje.
Let's start with the good news. We won over Rungsted by 1 point. Right up until the last ball went up the 18th hole the score was even, but then Anne Victor and Bodil Kock came in with a 2-1 victory. Big thanks to them, and all of you who fought bravely. And big thanks to Rungsted who entered with 14 teams.
The match with Gilleleje was not so painless. First of all, we could only field 10 teams. It must be possible to do better in the future. We fought, but Gilleleje won 7 out of 10 matches, we tied 2 and won one. Ugh, that hurt. KGKs' winning team was Eva Bramsnæs and Trine Rosenørn-Lehn.
Then we also need to get the result from Hornbæk, where it was also difficult to get enough ladies. This year we were close to winning, right up until the last 3 teams came in. Unfortunately, Hornbæk won 2 of them, so they could take home a 7-6 victory. KGK's best team was Karen Schur and Michael Laursen. Thanks to Tommy for the great preparation before the match.
Next year, the match against Hornbæk will be played at the end of May and the two women's matches will be played one week apart in June.
