While the European Solheim Cup was selecting the final players for the match at Gleneagles in Scotland on 13-15 September, the Tuesday Club played their very own Solheim Cup on 27 August. Here the White team competed against the Pink team. The first 6 holes were played as foursomes, the next 6 as fourball bestball and the last 6 holes as singles matches, where high handicap played against high and low against low.
A total of 16 teams with 32 participants took part in the match, and it was a great success. Some were not so familiar with the different match formats, but fortunately there were others on the team who could help with the accounting.
In the 9th row there was played Stableford. 15 participated, and today's winner was:
No. 1 Vibeke Knuth Wintherfeldt 20 points * No. 2 Grethe Backer 20 points No. 3 Else Ankerstjerne 18 points * Lowest handicap.
Only 7 played 18 holes and that's not enough to trigger a prize.
Nice friendly match in Falsterbo.
On Thursday, August 29, the Tuesday Club was invited to a friendly match at Falsterbo Golf Club. The match was started last year by KGK in connection with the Tuesday Club's 70th birthday, and despite both clubs' packed match schedules, everyone agreed that the friendly match should continue for many years to come.
The result was extremely friendly, as the teams played evenly: 4½ -4½.
After the match, we had lunch – salmon with dill potato salad – on the terrace. From here we enjoyed the view of the beautiful court and each other's company.
