For the 6th year in a row, a large part of the Tuesday Club ladies played the Solheim Cup. Not over several days, as the professionals do, but in a shortened version where first 6 holes of foursome were played, then 6 holes of bestball and finally 6 holes of singles.
The match was set for 40 participants, but due to the great interest, it was expanded to 44. The teams were divided into Pink and White teams as usual.
The weather was on our side and there was excitement about the result. After the 9th match the score was 17½ to the Pink team and 18½ to the White team. But the last two matches were won overwhelmingly by the White team, namely 0-4 each, so the final result was 26½ to the White team and 17 ½ to the Pink team.
The 9-row played stableford. 20 participated and the 3 best positions of the day were:
No. 1 Else Ankerstjerne 16 points No. 2 Susanne Vang 15 points No. 3 Birgitte Preben Hansen 14 points *
*lowest handicap.
In addition, 8 played 18 holes, but only a few submitted scorecards, as several dropped out after 10-14 holes due to waiting time from the Solheim match. We will probably solve that for next year.
