Life in Old Boys April

Ulrik 'The eagle' Andersen-Alstrup congratulated by Tuula with hole-in-one on 18!

If you have not yet registered for the match in Hornbæk, now is the time to register in GolfBox and pay the match fee via MobilePay. If you have registered but have not yet paid, your registration has not been registered. Right now there are more ladies registered than gentlemen!

We're taking a final look at this year's excursion to Sweden - if you want to come along, please register as soon as possible and no later than May 15. See below.

Wednesday at 10:00

We've had a few people who don't understand why they can't join, just because they forgot to register before Wednesday at 10:00 – when it was 'only' a couple of hours late.

To that, the chairman would like to say that the board does not sit with folded hands every Wednesday and wait for those who cannot meet the deadline at 10:00 to help them get on the starting list for Friday – and especially not when the starting list has already been sent out! From this year, we have chosen that a deadline is a deadline and for Old Boys who want to play on Fridays, it is Wednesday at 10:00. Previously, it was 08:00 and when it was moved to 10:00, it was with the reason that we would no longer help those who could not meet a deadline.

In 2026 the deadline is 10:00 and this was announced to everyone earlier in the year. We recommend that you, for example, register for all matches 2-3 months in advance and then simply go in and cancel if you are unable to attend one day – remember that cancellation must also be before Wednesday at 10:00!

Adult fucking ball!

On Friday, April 17th, we got a shitball in Old Boys because some of you didn't rake the bunkers after yourselves! The greenkeepers were focused on us that day and they could see that quite a few didn't use the rake that was in the bunker they had chosen to play in. The chairman can confirm that when he went out on the first flight with the 9-holes, he landed in one of the bunkers in a footprint, so there was definitely something going on. I think that's too bad - and the greenkeepers will again pay close attention to us in Old Boys another day. Promise us that it won't be you who will be the subject of criticism from the greenkeepers in the future.

This year's excursion to Sweden

This year we are going on a one-day excursion, unlike last year, when many stayed overnight at the golf course. We have had some challenges finding a course that was available and at the same time a great course – but we have succeeded in the end and we are therefore happy to announce that on August 28th we will be playing an Old Boys Match at Ljunghusen Golf Club with the first start at 09:00 and lunch afterwards. More about the club here: https://www.ljgk.se/ljunghusens-gk/

The normal price is 1,500 SEK – and our price is 1,200 SEK (approx. 840 DKK at today's exchange rate). We will do as last year and let everyone pay their green fee upon arrival – but only for those who have received confirmation of participation. If you would like to join, please write to the chairman. There are a limited number of places. As always, the joint lunch after the round is paid for by the club fund.

Results in April

April 10

The first 'real' match of the year featured dry weather but with a very strong wind from the east/southeast. It was a bit of a challenge for some to play from Tee 61 in that weather, but almost everyone made it through.

Only one went in after hole 9 (bad style).

The first division of this year's Tee Championship was won by 1-575 Mikael Randel with 35 points ahead of John-Allan Holm also with 35 points and with Michael Gerlif in 3rd place with 34 points.

The 9-holes all played from tee 49 and the winner of the match was 1-2680 Jesper Bramming ahead of Henrik Pedersen, both with 18 points ahead of Søren Juhl Hansen with 17 points.

We wish all red wine winners a hearty congratulations – well done with the wind conditions!

April 17

A historic day where for the first time we played according to the new rules with 2 equal groups.

Group 1 was won by Ib Jacobsen by a full 40 strokes ahead of Erik Fabrin with 37 and Arve Sund with 36.

Group 2 was won by Arne Schøller Larsen with 40 points ahead of Christian Geisler with 39 and Niels Christian Nielsen with 34 points.

The 9-holes were won by Erik Hamre with 22 points ahead of Finn Krog with 21 and Jørgen Friis with 19 points – they all went 3 in the same flight.

April 24

Perfect golfing weather – sun and not much wind. 1-15 Ulrik The Eagle Andersen-Alstrup was so inspired by the good weather that he made a Hole-In-One on Hole 18. Big congratulations to Ulrik!

  • After the feat, Ulrik received the club's gift – a magnum bottle of Rosé wine – from Tuula. Not a single eye was dry.

The 9-hole tournament was won by Poul Birch ahead of Erik Neubert (participating for the first time this year) and Claus Tage Hansen, who played like a dream! Wine was won by Søren Juhl Hansen, Steffen Harpøth and Erling Kjølhede.

Group A was won by Ib Jacobsen ahead of Ulrik The Eagle Andersen-Alstrup and Erik Fabrin. The wine went to Arve Sund, Michael Gerlif (who unfortunately had left when he was supposed to have it) and Thomas Poulsen.

Group B was won by Jon Dyhre Hansen ahead of Kim Heshe and Lars Høhne. Wine went to Christian Geisler, Niels Christian Nielsen and Steen Mahneke.

We congratulate all winners!

May

Please note that on Friday, May 8, we will start 30 minutes earlier, as Senior Golf will once again be holding a match with 50-60 participants this year at 1:00 PM. We will be holding the 2nd part of the Tee Championship this time from Tee 57, and we will play 2 x Stableford matches, a Modified Stroke Play and end the month with a visit to Hornbæk, where we will return the trophy to KGK.
