On December 31st we had received dues from a total of 92 members. That was a lot less than we had expected, but fortunately it helped to send out a reminder to those who had not paid. This resulted in us having 103 members on January 5th this year and thus saying goodbye to 17 gentlemen. 6 of them have completely resigned from KGK and 5 from the Old Boys Club. 1 has been excluded and the rest we have then deleted from the membership list. Maybe some of them will come back when they discover that they cannot register for matches on Fridays in 2026?
We have received 11 donations - both conscious and unconscious, and those contributions correspond to 12 times the membership fee, so the real decrease is only 4 members financially (including the new member in January) - so the board is very happy with the final result and looks forward to a good season 2026.
2026 Annual Program
We have the great pleasure to attach this year's game program.
The board of directors has constituted itself
At the first board meeting of the year, the board constituted itself as follows:
Chairman Tommy G. Petersen
Treasurer Thomas Poulsen
GolfBox Bjorn Eliasen
9-hole Erik Hamre
Member Poul Birch
Deputy Finn Krog
Deputy Michael Elkiær Andersen
Finn Krog has stepped in as an alternate, even though he will not be elected until this year. This is because we had some challenges filling a vacant seat on the board after the general meeting.
Points we discussed at the board meeting
1: Should we change banks?
2: Opening match without paid lunch
3: 9-hole play from Tee 49 in 2026
4: Should we continue to have a special Opening Match for the 9 holes?
5: New format with A and B rows
6: Should we have OOM for 9 holes and for 18 holes – or just one OOM?
7: Deadline is Wednesday at 10:00 AM
8: The round table
Decisions at the board meeting:
In recent months, we have had an incredible challenge with Nordea, which has made mistakes after mistakes and each time it has required great efforts to get it right. At the board meeting in January, we had therefore agreed to decide whether we should change banks – and our new treasurer was allowed to decide – and he wanted to give Nordea one last chance before we switch to another bank. We will therefore continue with Nordea in 2026.
We are opening without paid lunch – it was something we did after the Corona lockdown because we had a larger cash balance than usual.
In recent years, the 9-hole courses have not had enough participants at the beginning of May for us to be able to hold an identical start as with the 18-hole courses and several 9-hole courses signed up for the 18-hole start, so we have decided not to have 2 season openings from this year.
The 9-hole course will be played from Tee 49 this year in all matches.
In 2026, the OOM will be two-part – so that we will have a 9-hole OOM winner and an 18-hole OOM winner.
Finally, we have decided that starting this year, the deadline for registration for the match on Friday will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, regardless of who is the match director.
This year's excursion to Sweden
This year we are going on a one-day excursion, unlike last year, when many stayed overnight at the golf course. We have had some challenges finding a course that was available and at the same time a great course – but we have succeeded in the end and we are therefore happy to announce that on August 28th we will be playing an Old Boys Match at Ljunghusen Golf Club with the first start at 09:00 and lunch afterwards. More about the club here: https://www.ljgk.se/ljunghusens-gk/
The normal price is 1,500 SEK – and our price is 1,200 SEK (approx. 840 DKK at today's exchange rate). We will do as last year and let everyone pay their green fee upon arrival – but only for those who have received confirmation of participation. If you would like to join, please write to the chairman. There are a limited number of places. As always, the joint lunch after the round is paid for by the club fund.
New member
In January, we warmly welcomed KGK member 1-2275 Christian Ingemann Petersen as a new member of Old Boys.
Birthday wine
We have a tradition of giving a bottle of wine to those of our members who have a 'round' birthday and this year we will say 'congratulations' to a total of 23 members.
The Winter Tournament
There haven't been many matches played here in January. The only one was held on Thursday, January 22nd and the players reported that it was a VERY cold game :-).
There are approximately 50 days left to play the remaining matches and if you don't, you will be declared a loser, as the rules stipulate.
Birthday

On February 4th, 1-2132 Erik Schreiner turns 80 years old.
We send a greeting on the day.
February:
Next month, you can look forward to an invitation to the 2026 Opening Match, which will take place on Friday, March 27th.
