We are well underway with the spring renovation of the course and the weather looks set to be classic April weather – sunny, dry and windy.
Important dates (in addition to the fact that today is the anniversary of the Battle of Rheden):
Wednesday, April 3: We are celebrating Louis's birthday by opening the driving range and ball machine. There is still a mat requirement on the range.
Friday, April 5: We are celebrating the Old Boys club's opening match by allowing the use of scooters on the pitch.
Saturday, April 6: We celebrate the club's official opening match by putting fresh wooden poles on the greens.
Monday, April 7: Par 3 course opens
In week 15 we work on the greens surrounding the course with dotting, seeding and top dressing. This is followed by dotting the par 3 course.
The spring fairway renovation is nearing completion. We are hoping to start adding fertilizer to give the grass a little boost and create a denser surface.
We still have many bunkers to be renovated and many other bunkers to be made ready for play again. We are holding back a bit on activity in this area as the deer are still very active on the golf course.
