Planned track work in August:
Next week (Mon-Wed): We will be verticuting and topdressing the greens. Expect slower and more uneven greens while the work is being done.
All August: “Project Clover”. Late summer treatment of clover on greens and green surroundings. Expect black spots on the grass surfaces from the treatment with iron sulfate.
We have come through the first part of the season well and are now starting to get ready for the last busy part. There are a lot of matches and events squeezed into the program for the next two months and this also has its impact on the course maintenance as larger, more difficult projects are not necessarily started. But we are well on board with the maintenance plan and are satisfied with the development.
A new initiative is that we have hung bags of divot mix in the starter house. They are free to use and you are also welcome to keep them so that you always have one on hand when you are out playing. The nice black bags with the club logo contain a sand and grass seed mix that is spread in the divots you make on the fairways and semi-rough. When the round is over, you can hang them up again or refill with sand/seed from a box set up for this purpose. In this way, you can help the greenkeepers maintain and improve our fairways.
Enjoy.
