Planned work on the track in November:
Every week depending on the weather:
Top dressing of paths, areas around tees, semirough and around greens areas
Repairing edges on a number of fairway bunkers
Deep aeration of paths
None of the tasks significantly affect the game.
At this time of year, the weather determines what the greenkeepers can work on and whether it is fun to play golf. Too much rain and everything comes to a standstill. Evaporation is low, the grass does not absorb as much water. The course is getting more and more muddy. But we still have plenty of good days out here. But we have to take care of the course in no other way than in the summer when everything grows and can repair itself. From now on, the grass has to “last” until the end of April. A whole 6 months. Only then can we expect the grass and the golf course to recover from the wear and tear golfers, greenkeepers and, not least, deer put on it.
On November 15, a number of rules for using the track during the winter season will be introduced. These new winter rules will be explained in a separate article.
You can already help the track get through the winter better by following these tips:
- Follow the dotted lines around the greens and bunkers. The dotted lines indicate where you can pull your trolley to. Do not cross the lines.
- Straighten up impact marks
Enjoy!
