KGK's veteran team was relegated from the 1st division in 2016. From being among Denmark's 16 best veteran teams, we were relegated to the 2nd division. However, after a close match between Køge, Odsherred and KGK. All three clubs achieved five points, but KGK's five points were unfortunately the weakest.
In 2017, KGK's veteran team once again moved up among the 16 best veteran teams in Denmark.
Our pool in 2018 is again against Køge and Odsherred. In addition, Simon.
The first weekend of games was two away games against Køge and Odsherred. The games were a bit similar. After the women's singles and the 4 men's singles, we could sit in the clubhouse in excitement and await the result in the mixed foursome. In both games, the result in the mixed foursome would determine which club won. On Saturday in Køge, our mixed foursome won and KGK thus won 10-4. On Sunday in Odsherred, our mixed foursome lost, and KGK thus lost 10-4. Two close matches.
KGK is now second in the group after Odsherred, and ahead of Simon and Køge. The team that played this first weekend was Tuula Undal, Birgitte Henrichsen, Carsten Jensen, Klaus Thorsen, Hans Victor (team captain), Jens Erik Hansen, Hans Ole Voigt and
Henrik Wilhelm Nielsen.
The next weekend of play is June 16th and 17th. Both days at home. Against Simon and Køge respectively. By that time the rough is tight and KGK's course is more challenging. We hope for the best. Anything can happen.
The hope is to continue to be among the 16 best veteran teams in Denmark. And maybe... (hope is bright green)
