Startup Camp 2023 for KGK's juniors

The 2023 season features a lot of junior players in KGK and this weekend a Startup Camp was held for our juniors.

We had changed the concept a bit and moved the camp from Easter to a weekend in mid-April, as we have experienced that many are away on holiday at the beginning of Easter. In addition, we wanted to be more sure of the weather, as it can be very cold and windy in Dyrehaven. At this time the rough is not so bad, so the course is very playable.

The change in time resulted in a significant increase in the number of participants and we had almost 30 more juniors and a large number were new members who had joined this year. We also had some changes in the format, as our par-3 course and practice area are under construction, and the range was still a little soft. So the juniors were out collecting balls like the other members of the club. We had also chosen to move the match to the big course and for many it was the first time on a real golf course.

However, we had made tees from 25m and 50m, so that even the little ones could make birdies and eagles. At the same time, we played stroke play, and you had to play to the course's par from these tees. It gave a completely different feeling than a traditional stableford match. This is one of the innovations from Oskar.

The restaurant had prepared some nice food for us, and the juniors were really good at brushing off the shoes, so our newly renovated restaurant looked nice after we had been in the restaurant. So a big thank you to everyone in the restaurant.

A big thank you also goes to all the parents who helped during the camp. It is much appreciated that you help to give all the juniors a good experience.
