Valid from 12-10-2020 and until repealed:
A ball lying on a closely mowed area, such as a fairway, may be lifted without penalty and cleaned.
Before lifting the ball, the player must mark its position.
After lifting the ball, the player must place it on a spot within one scorecard length of and no nearer the hole than where it originally lay, which is not in a hazard or on the putting green.
A player may place the ball only once, and it is in play when placed. (Rule 20-4)
Disability regulations are in place as usual.
