Unfortunately, we are still experiencing Old Boys who cannot figure out how to unsubscribe from Golfbox and who cannot figure out who the match leader is. We therefore have to draw attention to this – once again:
Cancellations before the start list has been sent out:
Go to Golfbox under 'Club Tournaments'’
Find the date in question and press 'Register'’
You will be given 3 options – select ”DELETE” and your registration will be deleted.
Cancellations after the start list has been sent out:
Go to Golfbox under 'Club Tournaments'’
Find the date in question
You will then probably see an image that says "Leaderboard" with 3 lines to the left.
Press the 3 lines
Select "INFO" and a picture will appear, with "Contacts" at the bottom right - select Contacts and you can see who the match manager is.
Write to the match leader, who will then remove you from the match.
It has been an extraordinary month in many ways 😊
Results in May
May 1
We were extremely lucky with the weather, which was wonderful for golf. Sun, lots of sun, high blue skies and almost no wind. It was Great Prayer Day and perhaps the last time we will be allowed to play on Great Prayer Day, because there are rumors in the current government negotiations that Great Prayer Day might become a public holiday again?
The results in the 3 groups were:
9-holes were won by Søren Juhl Hansen with 20 points ahead of Henrik Pedersen also with 20 points and Niels Holst Laursen with 18.
Group A 18-hole was won by Michael Gerlif with 37 points ahead of Arve Sund with 36 and Erik Schreiner also with 36.
Group B 18-holes was won by Lars Monrad-Gylling with 40 points ahead of Søren Kyllebæk with 39 and Mikael Randel with 37. Member 1-540 was disqualified after the match for playing from the wrong tee. Remember that you play from the tee you chose when you registered for the match, regardless of where the other players in the flight are playing from!
May 8
We started 30 minutes earlier to make sure we got around before Dansk Senior Golf played a match at 13:00. We were again blessed with nice weather and it resulted in great scores. The 9 holes were won by Finn Krog with 20 points ahead of the chairman with 19 (2 crossed holes) and with Ditlev Bondesen with 18 points.
The 18-hole tournament played the second part of the 2026 Tee Championship from Tee 57 and the winner was Jon Dyhre Hansen with a whopping 43 points ahead of Jørgen Ib Hansen with 38 and Bjørn Eliasen with 35 points.
May 15
Another glorious day with sun and no rain showers. Scores were a little lower than the week before and in Groups A and B the first two in each group had exactly the same total score.
The 9-holes were won by Niels Holst Laursen with 20 points ahead of Theis Jensen also with 20 points and with Erling Kjølhede in 3rd place with 17 points.
Group A was won by Christian Strandgaard with 37 points ahead of Ulrik the Eagle Andersen-Alstrup with 36 and Arve Sund with 34 points.
Group B was won by the chairman with 37 points ahead of Søren Kyllebæk with 36 points and Mikael Randel with 35 points.
May 22
A round in cloudy weather and not as warm as expected – but everyone made it around.
The winner in Group A was Jens Taarnhøj with a net score of 71, ahead of Carsten Jensen with 722 and Erik Fabrin with 73. The red wine went to Finn B. Allingstrup, Stig Baungaard and Michael Gerlif.
The winner in Group B was Nils Juhl Andreasen with a net 67 strokes ahead of Søren Kyllebæk with 68 and Niels M. Andersen with 77 strokes. The wine went to Steen Mahneke, Jesper Bramming and the chairman 🙂
The 9-hole match was won in superb style by Jørgen Friis with a net 27 strokes ahead of Kaj Møller Hansen with 37 and Christian Ravn also with 37 strokes. The wine was taken care of by Theis Jensen, Henrik Lund and Carten Buhl Trosborg (Carsten had gone home when he was supposed to get wine, so it went back into the wine cabinet – we say 'thank you!'’
May 29 – the match against Hornbæk
Hornbæk has a new chairman and he had chosen a slightly different format than we have previously used. Instead of playing for each hole, each team had to record the best score on each hole played and then it was the sum of all scores for all KGK Teams and Hornbæk Teams that decided the match. Whether we will repeat the format in 2027 depends entirely on whether it is possible to set up the match in this way in GolfBox. Next year the match will be played at home on Friday, May 21.
The result was that WE WON THE CUP with a "superior" total score of 481 points against Hornbæk's 477 points.

(The trophy is 'home' again – thanks to Helle Correll for the photo)
Thanks for the help to these brave players and teams:

Birthday

1-912 Christian Geisler turns 80 on June 2nd
1-286 Bjørn Eliasen turns 70 on June 27th
June
The chairman is the Match Leader for the entire month.
Friday, June 5th is cancelled as it is Constitution Day.
On Wednesday, June 17, start lists will be delayed and will probably not be sent out until the evening.
On June 12th we will play a Greensome Match and on June 19th a Foursome Match before ending the month on June 26th with a Modified Stroke Play + 4-7-9. For new members: 4-7-9 means there is wine for numbers 4, 7 and 9 – it is our way of doing it when we can’t draw clap prizes every Friday.
The difference between Greensome and Foursome is that in Greensome both players tee off from the Tee and then choose the ball to finish the hole with – they take turns hitting the ball – in Foursome the team decides before round, who tees off on even and odd holes. Again, players take turns hitting the ball when teeing off on the holes. If you are in doubt about the rules, ask the chairman.
August
In week 33, KGK will hold its Festuge 2026 and Old Boys have been assigned to host a match on August 14. We have decided to hold 2 matches on the day – one for 9 holes and one for 18 holes.
The 9-hole team plays its match as a Backward Gunstart in the same way as the 18-hole team does every Friday, i.e. starting at 09:00. The match is held under the auspices of Old Boys and 8 holes are played 1-4+15-18.
The 18-hole team plays a Greensome Match with optional teeing ground (must be selected when registering) with Gunstart at 12:00. The match is open to all KGK members. Match fee 125 kr. Golfbox sets the teams. Prizes are donated by KGK. After the match there is music on the terrace (To Tosser på Tur) and a prize presentation for all the matches of the week.
KGK will arrange dinner in the evening, which requires separate registration and payment.
