News from the board

Spring is coming, the heat is on its way. Soon the opening match will be held and the grass will start to grow.

It has been an unusually busy winter in terms of golf, with a run on the tee times, even while we had to leave the 6th hole to sledding forest guests. We have maintained the tee times due to the Corona restrictions, which mean a closed clubhouse. As soon as we are allowed to be in the restaurant and terrace again, the ball trend will be reintroduced in accordance with the decision of the General Assembly.

The 1st and 18th greens are focus areas for the Course Committee, and we have therefore closed them for a period, hopefully for the enjoyment of later in the season. The mats have also spared the course, and thank you to the members for your understanding – and for using them.

Not so many thanks should be said to those of you who do not straighten out putter marks on the green. Heck, it is clearly stated in our rules of order and etiquette, and on signs hung in the club. Yet we can see that on each green there are 10-20 putter marks. "It's not mine, I don't make marks". Yes, we all do that, regardless of age and gender and also those who play flat. And by the way, we all have an interest in keeping the greens as beautiful as possible. So come on, dear members, we know you can.

Overall, it is a good idea during these busy spring months to familiarize yourself with our Rules of Order and Etiquette, as prepared by the relevant committee and adopted by the Board. They can be found on the website https://www.kgkgolf.dk/om-klubben/ and is updated in 2019. It's so boring when we get to argue about who should let who through. Or whether it's allowed to play six-ball if you only hit every other player...

The best thing is if we together take good care of our course, our clubhouse, and each other. We must take care of newer members in particular, helping them to settle in. It is not only the Intro Committee's job, but that of all members, because it is part of the values of our club that we are friendly and helpful.

In a few weeks, the KGKs' Annual Magazine will be published, telling about the year that passed - and what is to come. We look forward to presenting it to you. We will also send out the report soon, and hope you will mark your calendar for the afternoon of April 25th, when we will hold the Club's Annual General Meeting, in whatever way it can be done. A formal notice will follow.

Until then: Welcome to a new golf season
