Dear members,
How lucky we are to play golf. In the open air, in all kinds of weather, in the most beautiful nature. While Covid-19 is shutting down so many other common activities, we are still playing.
But not without a sigh of relief. We must be extra careful to help each other and the course through the winter for our common good. Take care of the course, it is a hard wear and tear we are putting it through. And what is going on with tearing into bunkers? If you are not coming, please cancel in good time, there are so many who want to play. And preferably play the holes in order, 1-9 or 14 and then take a short walk home through the forest, if it is not going to be a full round of 18 holes.
You may have met our Course Service volunteers on the course, it's a new initiative from the Board. With Ina Agerbæk at the helm, they keep an eye on crowding, etiquette and guidance, so that we get the best possible flow for everyone's enjoyment. And they may also ask you to show them the pitch fork...
Financially, KGK is doing well in 2020 despite the closures of the restaurant, training facilities and in the spring also the shop that we have been through. This means that our new water well is under construction and we can confidently look forward to 2021 with new activities and projects.
Sports are also going really well, new young elite players are jumping and then there are all the hard-working people who are fighting to get down or just get a handicap. And speaking of handicaps, remember, new rules will come into effect as of January 1st.
We owe our many volunteers a huge thank you for their efforts this year as well. Our club is member-run, no one should profit here except us who love playing golf in KGK. Of course, this cannot be done without a great commitment from members who make an effort to constructively secure the club's activities and future. Thank you very much from all of us to all of you.
An equally big thank you to our talented employees who help make our life at the club something very special and are constantly working to make things even better for all of us. A big welcome to the team to Anne-Mette Bendix, a new face in the administration, whom you will meet when you visit the office and shop after February 1st.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with your loved ones. But not without one: Take good care of yourself and take good care of others..
On behalf of the Board of Directors
Birgitte Henrichsen, Chairman
