Dear Member,

Hope you have had a good start to the new year? Here is some news regarding the upcoming general meeting, new staff, a simulator for members only, restrictions on winter games on the field and much more.

General Assembly April 2, 2023

We will be holding this year's general meeting in KGK's restaurant on Sunday, April 2nd at 2:00 PM. If you would like to submit a proposal or run for the Board of Directors, your presentation must be Board of Directors or the undersigned in receipt before February 15, 2023. Notice of meeting with agenda and report is sent out no later than 14 days in advance.

New greenkeeper for Martin Nilsson's team and changes to winter course

We are pleased to introduce Rasmus Brock Pedersen, 30 years old, as the new greenkeeper at Copenhagen Golf Club. Rasmus comes from a position as 1st man at Hillerød GK, and has previously also worked at Ledreborg GC and Mølleåen GK. In addition to being a skilled greenkeeper, Rasmus is also a skilled golfer with a CV that includes 2x winner of our own Royal Trophy, a regular part of Hillerød's 1st team in the Elite Division and a handicap of +1.5. Rasmus will start with us on March 1, 2023, where we would like to extend a warm welcome to him if you meet him on the course or inside the clubhouse.

Our Greenkeepers have noticed a lot of wear on many tees during the winter game, which is why we have tried to spread the wear out over the holes where possible. This means, among other things, that you must use tee 45 on the holes where they are available and that you will be moved forward on other holes. The blocks have been removed on the tees that have been taken out of play, so keep an eye on it. The tees without blocks may NOT be used.

In addition, our greenkeepers have noticed that too many players pull their carts right up to the edge of the green or over the tees. This is not good when there is no growth in the grass, which is why it must be respected to keep a distance from those areas. The greenkeepers have therefore drawn white lines before and around the greens, to ask you to keep your distance from the greens and NOT just take the shortest route to the next tee. Thank you in advance

Simulator setup in KGK

It has become possible to play Trackman simulator in KGK. The setup with us takes place in the indoor training room, where you hit into a net and then your shot is shown on a TV screen behind you – not like in the big Simulator centers with a screen and projector. The first feedback from the users is that it works really well. We are still making fine adjustments to it, so please give us feedback.

How do you book times? If you use the Golfbox App, it's simple. When you choose Copenhagen GK as the course you want to book, you will be given the option of choosing between an 18-hole course and a simulator. Once you have chosen a simulator, you can book 14 days in advance and a maximum of 2 hours per member. Only one person can be on the time, but you are welcome to play with more than one member at a time. Guests from outside cannot book the simulator and it is therefore reserved for members in 2023 as part of the 125th anniversary celebration. You must remember to confirm your time when you arrive at the club so that we can see if the times are being used and how much occupancy there is.

You can read about how to book time via Golfbox in the desktop version, create a profile in the Trackman system, and rules for how to use the room at this link: https://www.kgkgolf.dk/trackman-2023/.

Please leave the room tidy and neat so that it is ready for the next user. Enjoy.

New restaurateur

Peter Frejlev has chosen to resign from his position as restaurateur at the end of February. Therefore, we will immediately start looking for a new restaurateur or a couple of restaurateurs to manage, operate and further develop our newly renovated restaurant going forward. The club will celebrate our 125th anniversary in 2023 with many activities, so it will be an exciting year, with plenty of opportunities to make your mark on the restaurant.

We will post the position as soon as possible on our website and on social media, and we would be happy if the club members would share it with your network so that we can reach candidates who may be a good match with KGK.

The club says goodbye to Peter Frejlev with a thank you for the good cooperation, we will miss Peter, who has understood how to leave his positive mark on the restaurant. We also want to say hello from Peter and thank everyone for his time at KGK. Peter is changing to a completely different industry and job type.

We are also looking for a new chef for the club's kitchen after Matias Testa, who chose to move to a restaurant in Copenhagen in the late summer.
