"Then we named the winners of this year's Winter Tournament and we started the new season and named the very happy winners of the Opening Match"
This was the opening line of this infomail – but heavy rain on Thursday caused head greenkeeper Martin to close the course for play on Friday. We received the message at 15:59 – and due to Easter we have no other option but to postpone the Opening Match until Friday, April 14. If you have participated in the match, please note that you will have to register again via Golfbox.
The winter tournament this time has been a bit of a challenge. Many matches have not been played at all (in the C-row) and in both the A- and B-rows players have withdrawn due to injuries. Most recently Nils Juhl Andreasen, who has been unfortunate enough to have his Achilles tendon torn. We wish Nils all the best for a speedy recovery and return to Friday golf.
The match management has therefore decided that when you withdraw, all matches will be deleted if you have played fewer than 5 matches at the time of your withdrawal from the tournament.
The decision in the A-row was extremely nail-biting after the match management had reset the results for the players who had to withdraw. Jens Frederik Hansen had the lead for a long time, but when he 'chose' to lose his last match 1/3, there was suddenly excitement about the result. Michael Gerlif could then take over the lead and the victory completely with a win in his last match – but Michael also 'chose' to lose his last match, although only 0/1, so Michael slipped completely out of the prize pool! We ended up with 3 players on the same number of points and when they had beaten each other, the match management chose to decide the tournament based on the largest total number of holes won – and suddenly Michael Laursen then took first place ahead of Jens Frederik Hansen and Erik Fabrin.
The B-rank was also very close, as Ulrik Andersen-Alstrup and Poul Hansen both finished on 11 points and since they had played a draw in their match, the rank also had to be decided on the greatest number of holes won and here Ulrik was the best with a total of 25 ahead of Poul's 14.
Congratulations to all the prize winners in the Winter Tournament, we look forward to celebrating you on April 14th and a big THANK YOU to the participants in the C-row for your contribution to the club fund. This winter there will only be one tournament in the A and B-rows.

Sponsor of Match with the Tuesday Club
Rosé, Wine & Bubbles by Henrik Sølver has once again signed up as a sponsor of prizes for our traditional match with the Tuesday Club on August 11th.
The board is working to find another sponsor.
GF INSURANCE is a new sponsor

Friday, May 19, when we have electronic score registration, GF INSURANCE signed up as a sponsor in all 3 rows!
They will give a very short presentation during lunch, so we will ask the 9-hole players to wait for the 18-hole players to arrive.
Their representative Henrik Bech will exceptionally play in today's match in football with the chairman.

We warmly welcome Per. We are now 100 members again in the Old Boys Club.
The Old Boys Golf Trip is sold out.
Our golf trip in early October is now sold out, as we have received 16 registrations. The trip is to Emporda north of Barcelona and it has just been decided that
On the day of our return trip, we drive past PGA Catalunya and play a round on the famous Stadium Course.
Big changes for the 9 holes from this year
The office has asked that we abolish the option of not handing in scorecards, which is why the board has decided that in future there should be no difference between whether you play 9 or 18 holes. We are all members of the same club in the club and there should therefore be no difference.
This has the following meanings for the 9 holes:
- Scorecards are collected from the office before each match and returned to the office after each match - unless Digital Registration is used.
- You have probably already noticed that the column "EDS" is no longer on scorecards and this means that the result for each individual player is registered in GolfBox after each round played - so it is no longer necessary to decide for yourself whether scorecards should be registered. The spirit of the new golf rules is that you hand in scorecards after each and every round played in order to get as accurate a handicap as possible. This also means that when a 9-hole player plays with or against an 18-hole player, both have a handicap they can play to and not, as before, how many 9-hole players go around with an incorrect and far too low playing handicap. The 18-hole players have now been regulated every single week for several years, in contrast to the 9-hole players, which may not have been regulated at all?
- There will no longer be a clap prize after each match – you will bet on wine for no. 4 + 7 + 9 on the same day as the 18-hole rounds.
- When the 18-hole players play for gift cards and port wine, so do the 9-hole players.
- There will be few matches where 9- and 18-holes do not play the same match format, e.g. Tee Championship and perhaps also Old Boys Ryder Cup 2023 - just as 9-holes are cancelled 2-3 times a season.
We are aware that the above changes will not be welcomed with open arms by everyone, which is why we will start by running the new format for an initial 3 months, after which we will evaluate and decide how it should run going forward.
Invitation to the 2023 Opening Match for 9-hole players – April 28, 9:00 AM
The 9-hole course starts the season by playing an 8-hole Stableford Team Match with 3 players on each team and from Tee 49.
GolfBox is again making the teams so that the total playing handicap is as equal as possible. We will play holes 1-4 +15-18 with a Running Start after all 18 holes have played Hole 1. Meeting time is 09:00.
The following applies:
On the course's Holes 1-4 – it is the best score per hole that counts
On the course's Holes 15-18 – the 2 best scores per hole count.
In the event of a tie, the lowest overall handicap is weighted.
The team captain takes an extra scorecard and records the team's score per hole and overall.
The winning team will receive a refund of its annual fee for 2023.
You register in GolfBox under Club Tournament before Wednesday, April 26 at 8:00 AM.
The club box offers 2 sandwiches for each player. Drinks are at your own expense.
Participants in the 18-hole Opening Match on April 14th cannot also participate in the Opening Match on April 28th.
