This year, the tournament was hosted by Oslo. The team consisted of Tuula Undall, Nicolaj Becker Steffen, Claus Bloch Thomsen and Hans Victor (capt.).
The result was that Stockholm won (7.5 p), over Oslo (6.5 p), Helsinki (5.5 p) and Copenhagen (4.5 p). A close match. Copenhagen won over Helsinki, but lost to Stockholm and Oslo. All participants from Copenhagen scored points.
Socially it was a great success. On Friday evening we were put in groups with our opponents. Four-person tables out on the terrace overlooking the lake. Very nice. We played fourball with our group both Saturday and Sunday, which was new for the match. It created a nice social atmosphere. The gifts we brought for the other teams (knitted headcovers) were VERY well received. Everyone asked about “1898” – and when I was able to give the answer “the first golf club in Scandinavia”, the expressions were: “…is that right…I didn’t know that…I will always wear that headcover in the future….I am proud to have it”. They were impressed. A good gift and a good slogan: The first golf club in Scandinavia.
Thank you to Oslo GK and all the participants for a great trip.
