Course status July

17 fairways

The course and especially the fairways were close to going into drought dormancy again at the end of June, but an application of rinse aid up to a downpour did wonders. The growth in the fairways is in full swing and the definition and quality are really good.

Planned track work in July:

Week 28/29: Greens are pricked, reseeded and topdressed. Expect disruption and abnormal surfaces on the days the work is carried out. Keep an eye on your golf box.

Week 28/29/30: Clover scorching in progress. No disruptions

Week 28: Bunker sand on 12th hole replaced

Week 29: Bunker edge at 9th green being renovated

July is shaping up to be a quiet month where members are at their summer homes or abroad. Finally some normality here in the corona era. The greenkeepers are using this break to complete the slightly more unpopular work of staking and seeding the greens. But there is peace on the course, lots of heat and moisture in the ground, so the time is well chosen. Week 28 has been chosen to be where the work will start, but stormy weather may cause the work to not be completed until week 29. Check golfbox for information or contact the office.

We are dissatisfied with both the color and quality of the bunker sand that we are delivered. As an experiment, we have been delivered a bunker sand that our neighbors in Furesø GK use successfully. It is brown/red, fine-grained and packs nicely, so now we are trying it out by replacing the sand in the bunkers on the 12th hole. These are popular bunkers, so please give your opinion about the sand to the office or greenkeeper so that your opinion can be included in our evaluation of the sand. But remember: The sand will always be a little loose at the beginning.

As always: Remember your pitchfork to straighten out impact marks and finally remember to bring a bag of divot mix that hangs ready for use in the starter house.

Remember to bring water on the course. We still haven't received approval for our small water tap at the 10th tee.

Have fun and have a good summer
