Windy but pleasant excursion

ljunghusen-6a

Most of us had forgotten that 4 years ago we played Ljunghusen in rain and wind. The last two years we have visited the club, it has been lovely sunshine. But this year it was blowing like a gale on all 18 holes.
Tuesday, September 3rd, started in dry weather, as 41 of the Tuesday Club members were ready by the bus at 7:35 a.m. and just under two hours later the coffee was ready in Ljunghusen. The quick drive meant that we had time to “rip” the pro shop for clothes, which has also become a tradition. This year we played a slightly different loop than we usually do, namely the 9 oldest holes and the first 9 holes on the new course. That way we got plenty of water, both from above and from the numerous small lakes.
After the match, delicious chicken with mushrooms and white wine sauce was served.
The match was played as stableford in 2 rounds and the winners of the day were:
A-row: No. 1 Anette Brock 33 points. No. 2 Birgit Peitersen 31 points. No. 3 Anita Näsberg 30 points*.
B-row: No. 1 Else Bjerg Pedersen 37 points. No. 2 Nina Kai Nielsen 32 points. No. 3 Berit Bugge Friis 29 points.
* Lowest handicap.
The 9-row was won by Anette Fabrin.
Today's applause prizes were balls, which undeniably fell in a very dry place.

At home there is no real match, but the 9 row was well-represented – 12 participated – and that triggered a weekly prize for No. 1. Britt Roust Jæger with 14 points. No. 2 was Pernille Stage with 12 points. * and No. 3 Grethe Backer also 12 points.

The match on September 10th was cancelled.
The first 3-4 teams started optimistically on time on Tuesday, September 10, but after an hour of heavy rain, they returned to the clubhouse soaked. Here, a small handful of ladies who had postponed the start were sitting, drinking coffee and chatting.
Later, when the weather cleared up around 11 a.m., 12-14 people went out to play, but only for exercise. The match was canceled.
See you again Tuesday, September 17th.
