Finally the rain came. Two months of drought and the wait for rain are over. Although it hasn't happened yet, the effect of the rain on our fairways in particular has not been in vain. Finally, growth has come and very soon the desired density and color we demand will come. It is the fairways that need to be lifted this year. The next step in spring care is to add a little conditioner, which will ensure and maintain moisture in the soil. A little later in June, a re-seeding and fertilization will follow.
The course is now fully open. The last putting greens have been opened for play after the corona quarantine. The newly renovated tees on the par 3 course are almost ready for use again. On the driving range we have moved the distance flags around and you will gradually start to be able to aim for the target greens cut around the flags.
Anyone who has played the course will have noticed the small black spots on the course after our treatments with iron sulphate and garlic extract on clover and plantain. We have started the treatment early this season which will have a positive effect on the grass's ability to compete against the weeds. Because they will come back again. The treatment has been repeated 2-3 times, then rested over the summer and resumed in late summer.
There are now rakes in bunkers again. For those of you who have completely forgotten how the rakes should be placed in bunkers after use, here it is: The rake is repositioned with the rake head in the bunker and with the end of the shaft resting on the edge of the bunker.
At the washing area by the starter house, you will be pleased to see the establishment of an extra high-pressure cleaner.
Remember to wash and sanitize your hands after finishing your round.
Enjoy!
